A Brief History
My father and I had a small joinery company in the UK. Time was limited for office work as we needed to get on the shop floor producing timber joinery so most of our pricing was done during lunch time. We decided to invest in a computer software package to take some of the guesswork out of pricing timber joinery and speed up the process.
Looking at all the options “Woodman” came top of the list. The system allowed us to pass on our pricing knowledge and skills with little training.
“Bangs Joinery” went from a staff of two to seven with a part timer doing the pricing and invoicing.
In 1995 I emigrated to New Zealand and worked in the industry on the shop floor learning the NZ way of joinery manufacture. As an estimator at Whenuapai Joinery 1988 Ltd, using “Woodman” allowed the owner to delegate complex pricing of jobs. Estimating and creating cutting lists could now be done accurately and in a shorter time frame.
“Experience gives me the knowledge and practical experience to support my clients.”
